Relationships and marriages have been around since Adam and Eve. Many generations before our time we have seen great marriages and some that have failed. In the end, those that end in divorce all seem to have a common theme; “if I only knew then what I know now.”
Each chapter is written in progression addressing first things first. The book starts out with an examination and improvement of self. Accepting and loving the person you are and becoming whole; that is healing from the wounds of your past. It encourages you to fall in love with Jesus, say “yes” to His proposal and allow Him to meet your greatest needs. Allow Him to fix the brokenness of an abusive childhood or just low self-esteem. If you want the best that God has for you, then you must become the best that He can offer to someone else. This book encourages you to seek an intimate relationship with Christ and allow Him to show you how to love and to be loved.
The final chapters of “Preparing to Date Your Soul Mate” will place you in the state of mind as a husband or wife. It gives you insight on life as a married couple. It provokes you to count the cost of being married, having children, financial planning, dealing with friends and family members. These chapters impress hardly upon your thinking and decision that divorce is not an option! It ends with tips on how to live happily ever after; having the “Zoe” marriage that God wants you to have.
