(I originally wrote this piece two years ago but never fully realized what it meant for me until now.)
There is an intense, deep happiness available to you.
You may think that isn’t important, but this happiness comes from the joy of the Lord which is your strength and the peace of God which says you are Whole in Him. This is available through your complete surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. You are marked, which means you cannot run and hide like most. God pursues you hard. And regarding the attacks of the enemy – the enemy doesn’t just have free reign to attack you. He comes through open doors in your life.
Prayer becomes more effective when you close the doors to the enemy and get your agreement in proper alignment with the will of God.
The enemy wants to kill you physically and if he can’t kill you physically, he will try his best to kill you spiritually so that you cannot fulfill your kingdom destiny in the earth. Your willingness to humble yourself and hear what God is saying will save your life.
Think about the repeating battles in your life, the conflict you have in relationships, the torment that you experience, the walls, defenses, and weapons that you pick up to keep others out – those are due to wounds that you must fully submit to God to heal. That means no longer making excuses for the walls, the defenses, and weapons and recognizing that they do not serve you. Your use of those is keeping you bound. Guarding your heart doesn’t mean lashing out to keep others away.
Break the agreement that this is how you are because of what you’ve been through.
You are better than this. That is not your identity. It is a process but part of the process to get whole is extreme surrender, even of your right to be a victim. The enemy hides behind “victim” to keep you in that place. Ask Holy Spirit to shine a light on every area of darkness within you and submit to God’s process which looks different from your process. Dominion and the glory of God is on the other side of this for you.
There is divine assistance for you.
Make this the year that you break the cycle of being a victim by coming out of agreement with the lies that were born from painful seasons in your life.
